You Rained on My Parade
July 21st, 2008
Oh, I was so excited yesterday. I was bouncing all around and then CRACK! What do I hear? None other than a thunderstorm ripping through the clouds. And then a sea of rain fell on top of my house.
Well, we all know what that means, no doggy play date for Paco and no camera play date for me :’[
The only good that came out of that blasted storm is that my mom’s garden as been watered and the temperature has gone down.
Stupid weather. Now I have to wait until next weekend x[

Snap Happy
July 20th, 2008
Morning everyone!
I am very excited today. Daddy and I are taking Paco to the dog park (if poohbear is feeling up to it) and he is going to teach me how to use my new-old camera! Daddy gave me his old Olympus Pen camera that he bought in the ’60s. He used to have another one just like it which he used to photograph protests when he lived in San Fransisco. When he moved to Japan he sold it to a friend. He missed that camera so much that he hunted one down in Japan and bought it.
Lately I’ve been interested in old quality photos (like the photos from the ’60s) and I was talking about it with Daddy. He told me he had a camera that he could give me and he would teach me how to use it.
Unfortunately, this camera may have a light leak so today we are going to take trial photos to play around with black and white film, lighting, distance and see how bad this light leak problem is.
I wish (and so does Daddy) that we had a darkroom in our house so we could develop our own photos.

Too Hot for Grocery Shopping
July 19th, 2008
I’ve been trapped at home lately, due to lingering jet lag, Paco (my doggy) being sick, and not being able to make successful plans with my friends. The boredom was killing me, torturing me so much in fact that I jumped at the idea of going grocery shopping with my mother. Yeah, really desperate.
My mom was thinking of inviting one of her friends with us and I had no objection to that so I told her to call her friend. When we went to pick her up, I was shocked by her attire. It was a completely see-through black mesh top over striped genie pants. Did she even look into the mirror before she left the house? You could see her bra straight through the shirt! Couldn’t she at least have worn a black camisole underneath?
I was so embarrassed to be seen with her. I thought I was alone in this because my mother hadn’t said anything about the shirt. I learned later that we both thought it was too sexy for buying lettuce and dry noodles.

Icing on the Cake
July 18th, 2008
Once again, Shocolat has a new look! I am quite happy with it so I won’t change it for a while (however short that “while” may be) but if I do change anything later, it may be little tweaks like css or something.
As you may know, my interview was yesterday. I felt good, not the least bit nervous. After I was all prepped up, I waited until 12:27 watching TV. My sense and judgment of time is so bad. I left the house at 12:30 and by the time I got to two stores away from the bakery, it was still only 12:40. I had tried to walk slowly but I didn’t want to look weird to passing drivers. I ducked into a small novelty shop to browse cheap trinkets until it was time for my interview. It was a grueling 15 minutes but at 12:55 I couldn’t wait any longer. I could only look at bacon shaped band-aids for so long.
When I walked into the bakery there were three people. Two women who had highest seniority and dealt with interviews and hiring and one twenty-something guy named Peter. Now, I’m not saying that I am attracted to Peter or hoping for anything further than a coworker-to-coworker relationship but there was something about his eyes. It was like looking into Jafar’s cobra staff. Sometimes eye contact with even my most beloved family members makes me uncomfortable but when I looked at those eyes time slowed and my mind went blank.
Anyways, the interview was not so much about me, more so a tour of the bakery. We quickly discussed what days and hours I am available and then at the end of the interview, Claire, the person who gave me the “in-tour-view” set up two days for me to do trial shifts. On the 30th I will work morning with Claire from 10 to 12 and on the 31st I will work 4 to closing (around 6) with Jean.
P.S. I set up a photo Gallery so check it out! x}
[edit] I got bored and ended up snip snip snipping my hair! Check out my banging new bangs! [/edit]

You Only Get One First Impression
July 16th, 2008
I have an interview tomorrow at 1:00 at the bakery near my house for a fall/winter job. I’m very excited but I’m trying not to set my hopes too high ‘cos should things not work out, I don’t want to be too disappointed. It sounded like the place was quite busy with interviewing people so I am a bit worried but I have decent experience (waiting at Toraya for almost 5 months) and I am a good character so “knock on wood” and hope that all goes well x]
The lady from the bakery actually called me yesterday but I had fallen asleep (stupid jet lag! I went to take a nap at 11:00am and didn’t wake up until 7:30pm!) and missed her call. I hope I can make up for it tomorrow.
